The 2022-23 season was a historic one for the BHC women’s basketball team.
The Braves earned the program’s first national ranking in NJCAA Division II (#20 on Dec. 第五周(5), were undefeated in the Arrowhead Conference (10-0), and won 15 consecutive games from Jan. 5日至3月1日.
Out of more than 130 teams in Division II, the Braves came in 5th for three-point shot attempts per game, 10th for three-point shots made per game, and averaged 70 points per game.
“这是一个美妙的赛季. We had a lot of fun coaching this team,” said Logan Frye, head coach.
The Braves’ stellar season ended 3月ch 4 with a loss in the Division II, Region IV semifinals.
“We were hoping to play further into 3月ch but we are extremely proud of this group’s resiliency after losing three impact players to season-ending injuries, playing one of the strongest schedules in the nation, and being displaced from our locker room and routine amidst construction,弗莱说.
Three players earned individual awards during the 2022-23 season:

- Laney Parker of Springfield, IL – 1st Team Arrowhead All-Conference
The Braves also ended the academic year with a team GPA of 3.06和4.0 GPA student-athletes – Elizabeth “Liz” Fish of Morrison, IL; Hannah Maher of Woodhull, IL; Laney Parker of Springfield, IL; and Emma Pitstick of South Solon, OH.
Five players are planning to return for 2023-24, and Frye is excited about the newcomers he has signed.
“We have lost a lot of ladies who are not easy to replace. But we have a lot of great athletes and high-character young ladies who will be able to come in and make an impact on our team right away,他说.
“We have a conference title to defend and our end goal remains to reach our first ever national tournament,弗莱说. “We will show up in August ready to embrace the work and motivation it takes to achieve our goals on and off the court.”
